Get Hit & Get Back Up...Agian & Again

YOU ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE

"Let me tell you something you already know;
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody.

Cowards do that and that ain't you.

You're better than that!"- Rocky Balboa From "Rocky" Movie.

I loved that movie as a kid and I still love that quote.

"Overcoming Adversity", in my opinion is the most important virtue for humans to develop to be successful in this game of life...to overcome the ups and downs is crucial for a well balanced existence.

Trust me, I, (like you,) have been knocked out & beat down with a ton of bullshit that only a small fraction of the population has had to go trough or could even fathom, but as the saying says, what ever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. And from my personal experience, I really do believe that's true...

ie: imagine going through a 5 year court custody case spending thousand's of $ to fight for your only child that you love more than anything. Not fun.

Or how about getting threatened, robbed & jailed in Morocco and have to buy your way out! That experience was SO incredibly scary & stressful!

Or how about building a business for almost 3 years and have the founders change the entire business model that leaves you high and dry without an income? Devastating.

Imagine being in Thailand after a a year of backpacking overseas traveling and when you get to the airport ready to fly home you realize that somehow your wallet, passort and tickets have been stolen with only 2h before your flight departs and now your stranded in a 3rd world country with no ID, no money, no friends or family and your gonna miss your return flight and you can not even prove to customs that you are Canadian at the embassy because you have no ID!!

I seriously thought I was gonna be stranded in Asia forever & be left alone on the streets.

One of the worst feelings was coming home late one night and finding that my place was broken into and all my personal possessions were gone. That was incredibly violating.

And I am sure we have all at one point told someone that we 'love them' and then are heartbroken not hear the same reply in return, but to hear that they love you too, but, 'just as a friend'.

These are all real life experiences I have faced and had to deal with & figure out how to overcome them.

The ironic reality is that I do not regret experiencing any of them because they have all been a piece of the puzzle to get to me where & who I am today.

Its funny because I was talking to my dad yesterday and just telling him what I went through this past week in getting ready for my next 6 month trip to Asia that I leave for in 2 weeks and he was like 'son, in the past 5 days you've had to deal with more drama & stress than your mother & I have had in years', and that kinda put things in an interesting perspective for me.

I guess what I am honestly most proud of is that each of these knock out punches (and there have been many many more that I can not post here) has only made me a stronger and more persistence individual that is confident in my ability to overcome ANY adversity that can come my way...as I am sure you have the same experience as well.

So when bad shit happens, just learn and grow from it & move on.

Out with the old & in with the new & remember that there is always a method and a meaning to the madness that happens, I am a BIG believer that everything happens for a specific reason.

Life is too short to let drama queens (or kings) hold you back from your happiness :-)

As my man Snoop says, "There will be Ups & Downs in this Game of Life"

BTW, I am only 2 weeks away from my 6 month Asian Adventure & I will be posting regularly here on my Blog and I'll be shooting ALOT of live video of the cities, culture and other random shenanigans that I seem to get myself into while overseas as I have been known to in the past...

Peace.
