BE, DO, HAVE

(Me Driving The Great Ocean Road, Southern Australia To Western OZ Perth)

Being the person you want to BE and doing the things you want to DO & having the stuff (or success) you want to HAVE can be rather easily achieved
by using a SIMPLE Success System that hardly ANYBODY knows about or really understands. Allow me to simplify it and share it with you...

The majority of people (97%) wait until they HAVE the results they want until they will DO what it is that they want so that they can finally BE that successful (and happy) person they want to someday "Become" (sound familiar).

But this is all backwards people!

To have a new desired end result you FIRST have to BECOME the successful & sovereign (independent) person in your mind then to DO the THINGS that that successful person would do and then eventually you will HAVE the desired end result of that vision (if you work for it of course). What I am saying is to get a new result, sometimes you need to become a bigger & better YOU to achieve & attract it. Make sense?

Example: "Boiler Room" is one of my favorite movies, there's one scene were Ben Afflict is training the new recruits to "Act as if.." this is a perfect mindset shift to start coming from the position of confidence, independence and certainty that you are in control of your life (which we all are).

You see, most people put off taking their dream vacation because its 'not the right time'. Well, it will NEVER be the right time unless you MAKE it the right time!
My first trip overseas I took alone I was 19 years old! I traveled solo for 22 hours on a plane to Australia were I knew NO ONE! I had no
job waiting for me, I had no place to stay arranged, I had no one picking me up from the airport and I hardly had any money, just me and my backpack. But I handled it, I survived & I rocked it!

I ended up living there for an entire year! Traveling, working, partying & surfing all over that amazing country...it was easily the best year of my LIFE! (I could fill up an entire blog series of random hilarious adventure stories that happened on that trip, and many more on my other trips too.) *Hmmm maybe I will start a blog series about my travel tales. If you would like to hear some, email me at quintoncarlin@gmail.com so I can get a feel for the content I should create.*

However, if I waited for all the stars to align, like waiting to have more money saved, or to find a job or place to stay when I landed or even for a friend to come with me, I would still be sitting in Vancouver wishing & waiting for 'someday' to come...sound familiar? I hope not.

All I am saying is that sometimes you need to put the cart in front of the horse, put the peddle to the medal and take a leap of faith to BE that person who DOES unreasonable things and then HAS incredible life changing experiences & results. The reason I have traveled to over 22 countries is because I do not let circumstances stand in my way, I simply choose to create new ones. Trust me The Be, Do, Have Principle pays off, BIG TIME! Try it out for yourself :)

I would LOVE to hear your feedback on this Being Doing & Having subject.

**ALSO, if you are interested in taking a trip or vacation somewhere, email me at quintoncarlin@gmail.com because I can hook you up with a 7 day & 6 night hotel package for just $275 bucks!!!...(this is not an editing mistake, I found a GREAT travel connection and would be happy to share it with my readers).

Cheers,

Your Coach ~Q~

Food For Thought...

I like to believe that everyone can create their life's direction by simply choosing how they react & respond to the day to day events of their lives by choosing to be in control of their 'circumstances' instead of being a victim at the effect of society by making lame excuses...this poem give a good
view of the different perspectives people can have by either being the optimistic Sculptor or the underachieving pessimist...

"Sculptor's Attitude"
by Author Unknown

"I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friend or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provide shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Have a GREAT DAY……unless you have other plans."

Create Your OWN "Reality TV"

Quinton's Corner Quote:
"two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Robert Frost

My last article ranted about the bombardment of negative news
poisoning our society. Now its time to focus on the positive...

The reality is; I don't care about "Reality TV", and neither should you. I believe individuals can (and should) create their OWN reality and live their OWN lives instead of living vicariously through some random strangers soap opera dramas (as you can tell, I was never a fan of "Days of Our Lives").

However, the inconvenient truth is that we are surrounded by mass media marketing telling us what to do, how to be, how to act and what to buy so it's no
wonder so many individuals are walking around overwhelmed, broke, dazed & confused and uncertain about their future's.

The Solution: If you are ready to upgrade your lifestyle, your mindset & your results, I have a simple question & suggestion for you:
How do you want to FEEL each day?

FEELING A:
Worried, stressed, paranoid, overwhelmed & fearful?
Or
FEELING B:
Would you like to feel happy, empowered, abundant & personally connected with your community while being confident about achieving your personal & financial goals?

If you chose Plan A, no worries, keep watching & reading the same old negative programing & publications and keep thinking what you have always thought (or been told to think).

If you chose Plan B, cool!
Welcome to our Elated Inner Circle Community.
Get to know us (and read us) as we look forward to getting to know you as well.

Einstein said that the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result" so in theory, if you want a different result (or feeling) than what you are currently accustomed to, it's time that you start taking different action's and thinking in a different, more productive & positive way and start start surrounding yourself with people, personal development programs and media publications that make you feel, well, more elated.
Make sense? Think about that.

In closing, I personally CHALLENGE YOU to take 90 days OFF of all the negative influences in your life; whether that be mass media, brain numbing TV, negative newspapers, or "Greg" in accounting who always tells you how the world is gonna end in 2012. Even take a vacation from your spouse if they are always negative. Seriously.

Simply unplug and disassociate yourself from all negative distractions that hinder your highest personal potential. Period.

You will be AMAZED at how much extra time, energy, creativity and resources you will manifest!

Take the time to treat yourself to a good book. Clear out all the toxic junk that has been building up and start feeding yourself some good, positive personal development information, even consider going on a retreat or vacation. Why? Why not? You deserve it, don't you?

I am honoured & grateful to be apart of this publication's movement to be at cause (instead of at the effect) being a conscious solution to inspire & improve our society one reader at a time.

Now its up to YOU to spread our Elated News and share this paper with your network to start creating that inspired, positive environment in our communities.

CNN = Constant Negative News

We recently started a "Good News" Newspaper in Vancouver to help society focus on and acknowledge all the GOOD things in life, the community & the world, instead off being bombarded by all the other negative news publications that just focus on the BAD things happening in your life, your community and your world.
Our Goal is simple: to change the world, one reader at a time, while making a positive contribution to the conciousness of society to educate, empower and imporve the quality of life for the masses.

You can check out or other edition's / articles and writers at http://www.elatednews.com
Or you can find our stylish stands and papers in over 300 locations all over Vancouver.
This article below is my first article for the paper called "Quinton's Corner"
I hope you enjoy it :)

"CNN = Constant Negative News... "
DISCLAIMER: Just as my business / life coach John tells me every week, I will tell you: "if I say something that offends you...you'll get over it." So with that out of the way, on with the show my friends:

Three years ago I started a 90 day media fast as a challenge from a Personal Development Program I was doing.
No news (or newspapers), no TV and most importantly no celebrity gossip magazines for 3 months!
How would I ever survive without knowing which nightclub Paris Hilton stumbled out of last night?
After those 90 days past, just like a recovered substance abuser (FYI: which I am not), I never picked up the TV remote, or newspaper, ever again.

Since this is my debut article for the 'Good News' publication we call 'Elated News', I thought I should get some insight and do some background research on what the "REAL world" news is publishing to see what I have been missing out on.

Here's the 'breaking news' that I found:
The 24 Hour paper seems to have all the reports on celebrity gossip 'name calling' covered.
One article headline that caught my eye was "Obama calls Kayne West a Jackass". I definitely could not have started my day off the right way if I did not hear the President trash talking a rapper. Sometimes I am soooo glad to be a Canadian!

The Vancouver Province was doing a great job pumping out bold, fear based brainwashing paranoia poison with headlines like:
"Two men found in pools of blood" hmmm yummy! A deliciously mouth watering way to start my day.
For some reason I am no longer hungry. Here is another good one, "Samurai sword used to kill burglar" wait it gets better, "Bullet Holes Found in Elementary school". Talk about empowering the people!

I have to admit that I like the The Georgia Straight and I can't diss it...but...the last 5 pages of the Straight makes me feel very, very dirty, like I am in a Las Vegas seedy hotel club with all those pictures naked woman plastered on top of each other in the back of the paper. Come on Gorgia, let's class it up! You can get quality advertising dollars elsewhere, can't you?

Now, the worst of the worst: CNN! = Constant Negative News.
I had to go to my friends place to watch the news (I don't have, or want, cable TV) all I can say is "wholly crap!" After 15 minutes, I wanted to crawl into bed & hide under the covers in the fetal position...for the rest of my life!

I'm curious, can CNN have any more fear based, toxic propaganda to negatively condition the collective mind of millions? I have studied NLP (Neuro Lingustic Programing) the underling messages that CNN are spewing out into societies conscious & subconscious minds are unbelievably destructive & disempowering. It literally makes me sick.

I told my friend to change the channel but all we could find was mindless commercials telling us to consume useless products after a plethorage of terrible reality TV shows. I wish I never knew that rapper Flava-Flave has his own reality dating show. Are you serious?!

*Unfortantly my friends, my media rant went a little long today (hey, I had three years of negative news to catch up on). So stay tuned for the next Elated Edition to learn how you can delete the bombardment of negative news and how you can start ACTING & FEELING more optimistic, postive & happy by starting your day the empowered, Elated way.

Quinton Carlin

Welcome To The Information Age: Personal Development + Free Enterprise = FREEDOM

Tony Robbins, Frank Kern & John Reese all have one thing in common:
They have all made ALOT of money!

How?

By HELPING PEOPLE!!!
Watch this ENTIRE video...trust me, you'll enjoy it:)

Tony Robbins: Personal Development Superstar (who used to be overwight, depressed and unemployed)
Frank Kern: Mass Control Creator & Educator on builidng successful businesses (who used to be a 'surfing' salesman)
John Reese: internet marketer who sells a TON of stuff online and has made over 1 million dollars in 24 hours!! (he used to work at a video rental shop)

Fact: YOU can become as successful as ANY of them.

My point is that YOU can BE, DO & HAVE anything you want...if...you take ACTION to create your desired results to hit your goals.

Its true that currency is an exchanged of energy for service rendered. Period. The more value & service you GIVE to others, the more affluence you will recieve. Its the 'law of compensation'. Read any of Deepak Chopra's books to learn more about it.

Ask yourself, how much value do you give to your marketplace, to your industry, heck, most importantly how much love, attention, value and service to you provide to your friends and family?

Now try this test out: Write down the names of your 10 closest friends (or people who have a great deal of influence on you). Now add up all of their approximate annual incomes and then divide it by 10. The result should show that you are earning right around the average of your circle of influence...interesting huh?

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with that, it just is what it is. All this test is meant to do is to show you how much impact your social cirlce has to do with your results in life. Did your mother ever say not to hang out with the "wrong crew" in high school? Probably. Why? Because after a while you start to mold and model your actions to those around you...kind of like a cammillian to takes the shape and colour of its environment.

Here is a real life example. I took the past 5 months off (enjoying summmer) from growing my business & unplugging from my Mindset Marketing Mastermind group.
The Result: my income & business dropped to an all time low.

Why? Because I was not doing the things that created results and I was not surrounding myself around the successful people who were getting the results.

Moral of the story...well, I believe YOU can see for yourself and know for yourself what needs to be done...don't you?

Ok then, lets go do it!

Lets BOTH press the restart button together and lets start this September season with a fresh start to create a life by design...

P.S. I am now taking on business parteners who want to learn, earn and be at cause for educating, empowering and growing themselves into self sufficent entrepreneurs by using a proven marketing system while assisting others to become successful.
Ready for a true win-win business model?
Take the first step and find out whats possible for yourself! You'll be glad you did :)
Call 604 340 6986 to speak with me directly to get a FREE coaching & consulting business building session and access to a FREE Mindset Marketing Mastermind Webinare.

Lets get started!

If You've Never Failed...You've Never Lived & Will Never Win!

What else can I say? The video says it all...

My last article below was about the silent 'Lie of Life' that people in society have these 'rules & regulations' to live by and that there is a certian expectation that the 'saints' of society expect us to follow like a herd of blind cows...

Well, I say there is a set of rules and regulations but we do NOT have to follow the heard of the blind leading the blind who created these expectations...

The fact is that we ALL have the FREEDOM OF CHOICE to BE, To DO and To HAVE whatever it is we want. Period. But most people don't take advantage of this 'free will'.

Ask yourself: why do you get up in the morning and do the things you do?
Like waking up at 6am and going to work?

Because you have too?

NO!

You do it because you choose too.

BIG difference in that distinction.

I speak with people EVERYDAY who reply to my adds who want to start a business to be able to work from home and have the time & financial freedom to do the things they want to do, *BUT* when given that exact same opportunity to do what they say they 'want'...most people walk away from the answer to their problem and decide to continue going back to doing that thing (job) that they hate, but say they 'have' to do (waking up everyday & working for someone else instead of themself).

Why?

The number 1 reason people do not get what they want or do what they WANT in life is this: Drum roll please....

Fear of 'Failer.'

Plain and simple.

It's FEAR of failing that keeps people stuck living a life they are not happy with!

Its FEAR that keeps people from reaching their God Given potential.

Its FEAR that keeps people from taking that dream vacation...just because CNN (Constant Negative News) says that the 'world' (outside of North America) is a dangerious place to visit.

Its fear that keep people waking up before the sun comes up to trade there life for a pay check instead of living a life by design.

Is fear knocking on your door and holding you back?

F*ck THAT!

Do you know what 'FEAR' stands for? False Expectations Appearing Real

I have traveled through war-torn countries on numerous occassions (I backpacked through the Middle East for 2 motnhs AND I was in a war zone along the border of Northern Thialand & Burma trying to get my passport stamped and you know what?

The reality is that I am more scared to go to a house party in Surrey (a bad area in Vancouver) than try crossing a border in the middle of a war...

Most people don't want to look bad in front of others, and trust me, I understand that completly! When I joined my first (and only) Network Marketing Company and put my student loan towards getting started, my parents FREAKED OUT!

But that did NOT stop me (but unfortunatly other situations just like it has stopped ALOT of my potential business partners from getting started in their own business).

A couple months later after 'results' became apparent, and that 'thing' I signed up for became 'real', my mom ended up joining me in the same business that was a 'scam'. LOL!

That was a sweet feeling that overcame the 'fear of failer' seeing her eat her words of warning & fear of the unkown & unframiliar.

But hey, I am NOT saying I have never failed...I have...plenty of times...

-My biggest personal failure so far: imagine being 23 years old & having the one person you love the most in the world (your child's mother) leave you for no reason, and as a result you miss out on some of your son's growing up?
Yup, that happend to me and ya, it really sucked...but I got over it an learned a TON about relationships and taking personal responsibility from that experience and as a result of my love and commitment to my son, I have the most incredible 5 year old boy on the planet who is VERY loved by both his parents (me and his mom). Strangely that separation between his mother & I it turned out to be a blessing in disguise....everything happens for a reason.

-My biggest financial failare to date is I did not listen to my business Advisor/ Marketing Sponsor and lost (passed up) something like $72 000 dollars (yes, thats seventy thousand dollars) in commissions due to just ONE bad decision from not being positioned at the top of the companies pay plan (a lesson that I am still recovering from.) Now I listen to everything my advisor tell me :-)

-I have also gotten fired from a few past jobs when I was younger (thats why I HATE being an employee!)

-I have missed ALOT of game winning shots throughout my basketball career...but like Michael Jordan said: 'you miss every shot you never take'. (FYI he has missed more shots than anyone in NBA history...but hs is also the leading scorer and best player ever because he took the most shots aswell).

My point is, who cares what people think of you?

The problem with society is that most people don't think of you (or of anything else besides themself) at all...

(Excpet you of course:)

LOL!

So keep on failing & have fun with this thing called life, because it means the more you lose, the bigger you are about to win.

"I continue to fail, that is why I succeed" Micheal Jordan

I am flying to down to LA this week for 6 days to go to my Network Marketing's Training Conference (I can't WAIT for that and to SURF agian;)...

I will post a new article soon about that trip & event and I will be sure to share with you all the success secrets I will learn from that Personal Development event...

Talk soon,

Quinton

Remember: 'Winners never quit & quiters never win'
See you at the top!

The Silent Tick-Tock "LIE of LIFE"...Sound Framiliar?

I was sitting in a lounge last night sipping on a gin & tonic in Yaletown with a good buddy of mine named Colin.

We have known eachother for over 16 years (its incredible how fast time flies!)
We both grew up in Edomonton and we lived 5 blocks away from eachother 'growing up'.

Five years ago I both moved to Vancouver, last week he moved in with his girlfriend into a new condo in my neighbourhood, so we once agian randomly live about 5 block away from eachother in a new Van-City.

Anyway, after a few drinks we were talking about the same old B.S. stories & remenising on the past and then we started to realize just how FAST time has flown by and how many of our friends are now buying houses, getting married, having children, getting trapped into jobs / careers that were at first 'just a temopary job' but have now somehow turned into a 10 year groundhog day rat race routine running up the corporate ladder were there is no end in sight...

And the worst part of all: some of us are even looking...OLDER. Yikes!

Do you know what I mean by this 'thing called life' happening too fast to keep up and keep on track?

Take a look around...I even dare you to take the time to take a close look in the mirror...I did. Its incredible who you will see :)

It was so funny because later that night I randomly ran into another good friend of mine at the same lounge who used to be my old college roomate who I used to play basketball with at the University of Winnipeg!

When he came up to us at the bar, the first thing he said was 'Hey man, guess what? I just bought a house with my girlfriend up on Main St." Classic.

Colin and I looked at eachother and spoke the unspoken words as thoughts.

"Life is happening all around us, the eternal tick-tock of the clock is non-stop."

If you have ever felt like your are chasing something, working towards something (or even worse: working FOR someone), wanting something, waiting for something or wishing for someone...

You are not alone...its a game that 'they' (society) wants you to play.

Watch this to see the BIGGEST (Unspoken) LIE of LIFE...

It may be the fact that its my 29th birthday next week and I am feeling a little, how do I say 'reflective' as I write the blog post...but, I also think that its important to pass this important message along to anyone who cares to read or listen to it...

"LIFE IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW..SO...GO LIVE IT!"

I have made it a point to go down to the beach by my place every night to take the time to enjoy watching the sunset. Its the highlight of my day. LOL.
Life really is a beautiful thing to waste, most people are just waiting for it to start.

This video is why I LOVE this VAN-tastic City soo much!
Look for the lightning bolt at 1 min 40 secs..incredible.

I suggest you should try out a 'sunset session' sometime: Bring a nice bottle of wine, blanket, a picnic (and perhaps a special someone if you please) turn off your phone and just enjoy!

PS here is a REALLY funny mock video of the neighbourhood were I live called "Yaletown".

See you all at Bar None (or as we call it, "Bar No Fun" Haha!)
Sorry, insider joke / just like the 'Lie of Life', what a joke! Life is much more fun and productive when you stop playing by 'their' rules.

Ok, enough rambeling, or I will be 50 years old by the time I post this.
Going to watch the sunset now.

Game on.

If its not FUN...I DON"T wanna do it....

"If its not fun...I don't wanna do it" has pretty much been my motto mantra my whole life. That's also why I never did well working as an employee...because most jobs suck. Right?
My question to you is: "can business / working be fun?"

Well, I believe yes...and...no & I will tell you why.
I have been blessed to have had some AWESOME Jobs & Businesses Ventures....

I have also been cursed with some real crappy ones too: like working as a dishwasher for 2 weeks at Pizza Hut when I was in college, after I quit I never ate at Pizza Hut again. Telemarketing, enough said. I also got paid straight commission to stand around all day selling ice cream on some street corner in Montreal, I ate most of the ice cream myself & lost money on that gig :(
My fist online business venture bombed after spending $3,000 (from my student loan) on 3 website templates that I could not build or convert into sales...later I found out you can get money making website templates made for like 50 bucks...live & learn.

Anyway, back to the good stuff...

My first job when I moved to Vancouver 4 years ago I was a Talent Agent.
For some reason I was given my own HUGE office downtown Vancouver were I interviewed, photographed & booked actors and models to various productions.
Good times:) I was basically Ari from Entourage...without the intense attitude & suites. Haha.

Then I got on board as the team leader for a promotional modeling company were I got paid to go out to bars, clubs & special local events leading a team of 5 promo modeling girls out to all the events...so basically I got paid to party with really pretty people ;)
Not bad.

But the best of the best was getting hired as Canada's only Summer Surf Camp Director through Inner Rhythm Surf Shop. The Pacific Ocean became my office and my wetsuit become my everyday 'suite'. It blew my mind that I actually got PAID to do the thing I loved more than anything else on this planet...surf.

This is also where I started my own first business, "Surfveza".
I took college students to surf safaris to Tofino, Vancouver Island and also down to Mexico.

Surf + Cerveza = Surfveza...get it?

And with that: "Surfveza Sessions" was born!

I still remember sitting on the beach in Mazatlan after a sunset surf, sipping on a Corona, surrounded by like 30 of my college peers that I organized this surf trip for and being like, "WOW, I actually got a free trip to Mexico AND made $ setting this 'Surfveza thing' up...Business CAN be FUN?!?"
Then it hit me:

Employees WORK for $.
Entrepreneurs MAKE & CREATE $.

After I got back from Mexico, I stopped attending & paying for my 'formal' education. I dropped out of the 'unfun' college program I was studying and started studying REAL business & marketing (information which I had NEVER, EVER taken any formal courses or read books about) until after I found the Home Based Business Network Marketing Professional Entrepreneur Industry = The Ultimate FUN Business.
I was HOOKED!
I pretty much immersed myself in every book, program, course, workshop and conference I could find to attend...and to be completely honest, I have not really grown my business THAT much since getting started...but I have grown my self & my mind ten fold because I am looking at business building as a LONG term career.

So now after 2 years of incredible growth, personal development, extreme highs & lows of REAL life education, I am starting a new business endeavor (on top of my Home Biz of course) creating Vancouver's ONLY "Spa Bar-Pool Parties & Events" called "Surfveza Sessions"

This has been another fun new project for me!
Surfveza Sessions is all about giving back and creating a great venue & experience for people to come and enjoy themselves while treating themselves to what we call a "staycation" (staying close to home but still feel like you are on vacation) instead of having to take an actual "vacation" to chill out and relax :)

People can come to one of our epic events that is hosted by myself and a friend of mine Kita Forever anytime they want. Just get on our Invite List at www.mysticalvibrationsmusic.com/surfveza.html
Surfveza Sessions provides Vancouver's social scene with live DJ's, a full bar and a full pool full of the cities hippest & hottest guys & girls from all ages & backgrounds.
At our events you will find a mix of our inner circle party promoter entourage, local social scensters, some local entrepreneurs / business owners, yoga teachers, actors / models / musicians, people in the service industry...and ANYONE else who wants to meet great people in a great place while enjoying a cerveza in the pool, hot tub or infrared sauna.

This is a brand new learning experience for my team and I and we are screwing up a ton & having a blast! Its awesome :P My goal is to have other Surfveza Sessions in other major cities. So keep an eye & ear open for a FUN business franchise opportunity tailor made for the right FUN person.
Could it be you?
My point in writing this article is that everything & anything can be cool & fun...and...anything & everything can also be boring & suck. It depends on how YOU choose to spend your time & days, thus equals how you spend your life. "All life is, is single moments strung together on a pearl necklace" as Success Coach Robin Sharma says.

I will be the first to admit, after awhile even the coolest & funnest things can get kind of old & boring (even partying with gorgeous models, surfing all day and sitting in a spa eventually gets routine if your doing it all the time! Trust me.)
So I believe its important to make & create new challenging goals and projects to work on just like the Japanese saying that used to by painted on my basketball team room wall says live in the "Spirit of Kiazan" that means cultivate constant growth and improvement throughout ones life...

What I have learned so far in this crazy thing called life is that its NOT about what you do, its about who you ARE BEING while you do it.
So ask yourself: are you being fun or boring doing what ever it is that you do? Looking back, it was pretty freaking fun sitting on a corner eating tons of ice cream listening to live Jazz at Montreal's Jazz Fest...come to think of it, that was a GREAT summer job :)

I would REALLY love to hear what your best (or worst) job or business venture was or is, so go ahead and leave a comment below...

Hope to see YOU poolside at one of our next Surfveza Sessions

Whats Love? This is What 30 Years of Marrige Looks Like...

A couple weeks ago I decided to fly back 'home' to surprise my parents for their
30th wedding anniversary...

On the trip back I started thinking how LOOOOOONG 30 years really is...

Its longer than the internet has been around (imagine life with no internet nowadays)

Its longer than McDonald’s has been around!

Its even longer than my entire life! (I am only 28) WOW.

So that means that this man (my dad) and this woman (my mom) have ONLY been with each other for that entire time...

Incredible.

That literally blew my mind.

In a society were the divorce rate (56%) has a higher percentage of couples separating than staying together, thats a pretty impressive number.

Heck, even 10 years of marriage is an incredible feat but 30 years...?
Those odds are almost like getting hit by lightning AND winning the jackpot on the same day. (Knock on wood).

Then, after analyzing other relationships I took a close look at my personal relationships...

Fact: my longest relationship will be the 3 year contract I just committed to with my Iphone...and even that long term commitment makes me quiver.

My longest relationship with an actual human is 12 months...and I hit that feat twice...

After talking about this scenario with a couple friends of mine (both girls), we came to the conclusion that OUR generations reality has changed, just as the times have changed....

In our parents generation the usual 'lifestyle' was that you get a job (were you worked for 40 years with the same company), then you meet someone and get married, have 2.5 children with a white picket fence and then retire with a pension.

Nowadays people seem to change jobs & partners almost monthly.

There seems to be no longevity in either careers or relationships as people freely seem to jump from one to another like Tarzan swinging from tree to tree through the jungle.

I am not saying what’s right or wrong, I am just saying what is...or...seems to be.

But there was something really sweet & special watching these two people (my parents) recite their wedding vows 30 years later and I was glad I witnessed it.

It even made me re-think my own single status.
(FYI: after the separation from my son Ethan's mother, I never really pictured myself being married or back in a committed relationship agian, but now...I am kind of open to the opportunity of marriage, if it ever arouse ofcourse...heck...even Tarzan got tired of swinging trees solo in the jungle as he settled down with Jane right? ;) Hahah.

I am at the age were alot of people I know are getting married & it's kind of bizzare. I ALSO think its very solid to be solo and not just follow the fads and buy into doing whats 'expected' or doing 'the right thing to do' and just LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT TO LIVE IT.

If you would like to see some good old fashion fun and see what 30 years of marriage REALLY looks like...watch this video and see what happens...its actually hilarious.

(I recommend watching this video and picturing or visulaizing yourself 30 years from now with your current partner or your perfect picutre of one...time flies...30 years will be over before you know it :)

PS: Watch my dad, hahah! He looks like a deer caught in the headlights...first he forgets the ring then blames it on my mom...and he's wearing his slippers hahah...and listen for the random Iphone commercial sales pitch to the Priest...Classic Carlin's :) Cheers to another 30 years!

IPhone OR Blackberry...?

value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D6ebtf3u58I&hl=en&fs=1">
Have you ever noticed how many freaking adds and commercials there are for cell phones???
Its a multi BILLION dollar industry...why?

Because the business model is outstanding as a per customer aquisition standpoint:
Monthly subsctiptions & contracts = passive residual income for the company.

The competition for YOU as a customer is priceless...

And the tools, apps, bells & whistles are outragous on these 'phones' are running our lives, businesses and relationships!

Next time you are out in society, look around at how many people are texting, emailing and talking on the enver ending variety phones.
It blows me away how these tiny devices are taking over our lives, and apparently the world as you can be traced to your exact location on some of these devices with the incredible technology that they have now, as well as the ability to use a "Google Map App" to see exactly were you are and find were you want to go...
its unreal!

My questions to YOU is: are they enhancing our lives or distracting our lives?

And what do you think is better & why: The Iphone or Blackberry?
Leave a comment below...
I just got an Iphone and LOVE it! It absolutely enhanced my life and business:)
Happy texting...

Sitting In Slience, Inside & Out....For 10 Days!

"Into the Wild" movie, watch it...

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonley shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man the less, but Nature more...
Less is more. Simple is pure. Solitude is profound. Nature is the Law.

Ever since I heard about "Vipassana", an international & universal "TRUTH" taught in a 10 Day Silent Self Mastery Mind Meditation Retreat, I wanted to go. Badly.

To simply and soulfully explore the inner essence of my mind (the concious & sub consious: that is the most powerful tool in the world), without the countless distractions and cravings of society to examine my past, my present and my future. To ask the question that is on everyones mind 'whats life all about?'. The end result of this retreat is to deepen relationships with others as well as within yourself in the serene silence of nature to literally step out of society, and step into the wild.

Like my childhood idol Ferris Bullur said durring his famous 'Day Off' movie that "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop to look around now and then, you might just miss it."

Like most peoples experience, its VERY easy to get caught up in the maddness of the mission, what ever that may be: work, school, family, ect.
The past 10 years have been pretty much non-stop for me after graduating high school, college, intense basketball scheduals, working crappy jobs - then starting my own business, TONS of travelling, relationship challenges & dramas while striving to be the best dad I can be raising an incredible 5 year old son and doing my small part to make the workd a better place, ect ect.

However, LEARNING LIFE LESSONS 101 while walking down the path of life on a road less traveled is not always an easy journey, but it is a nessicary one non the less. Don't you think?

I feel like NOW is time to STOP! And sit in silence for at this 10 day challenge...
So, I am heading into the 'wild' while checking out of 'society' and checking into the 'silence' at this retreat center...

-no phones, no internet (or Facebook), no TV (not that I ever watch that thing anyway) and no talking!

*For 10 DAYS!*

WOW! that makes me smile just thinking about it...I can't wait. I also feel fearful like I am going into a prison...and even paying to go...weird huh? Haha

You may be thinking I am crazy to do this, and thats ok. BUT, I think that people that spend there life running with the rats in the rat race routine of society and never stoping to take a look around or even inside themselves...are crazy.
So, here we are, both insane in our own way I guess.

I have gone to ALOT of Personal Development conferences & workshops...I even went to a few meditation retreats in Thialand & Israel...BUT...this is on a WHOLE NEW LEVEL for me....

*10 days of silence: inside-and-out*

And to tell you the truth: I am kind of nervous. Regardless, I am heading down to Portland for this 'self mastery mission' this week.

Here is my 10 day schedual, everyday is the same:

4:00 a.m.---------------------Morning wake-up bell
4:30-6:30 a.m.----------------Meditate in the hall or in your room
6:30-8:00 a.m.----------------Breakfast break
8:00-9:00 a.m.----------------Group meditation in the hall
9:00-11:00 a.m.---------------Meditate in the hall or in your room
according to the teacher's instructions
11:00-12:00 noon--------------Lunch break
12noon-1:00 p.m.--------------Rest, and interviews with the teacher
1:00-2:30 p.m.----------------Meditate in the hall or in your room
2:30-3:30 p.m.----------------Group meditation in the hall
3:30-5:00 p.m.----------------Meditate in the hall or in your room
according to the teacher's instructions
5:00-6:00 p.m.----------------Tea break
6:00-7:00 p.m.----------------Group meditation in the hall
7:00-8:15 p.m.----------------Teacher's Discourse in the hall
8:15-9:00 p.m.----------------Group meditation in the hall
9:00-9:30 p.m.----------------Question time in the hall
10pm Lights out.

What is Vipassana meditation?

Meditation aims at the highest spiritual goals of total liberation and full enlightenment; its purpose is never simply to cure physical disease. However, as a by-product of mental purification, many psychosomatic diseases are eradicated. In fact, Vipassana eliminates the three causes of all unhappiness: craving, aversion and ignorance. With continued practice, the meditation releases the tensions developed in everyday life, opening the knots tied by the old habit of reacting in an unbalanced way to pleasant and unpleasant situations...it is also a non denominational, non religious and non sectorial practice that does not interfere with or promote any certian belief or religious ritual.

Here are my last words caught on video (this guy Dustin is HILARIOUS!):

Shhhh.
Stay Tuned...

***************************************************

10 days later:
I did it! 'The Art of Living' 10 days on the inside...complete.

I don't even know where to begin in even starting to explian the experience. How can one put a complete introspective 10 day internal adventure into a few sentences and due a trip like this justice?

I guess the only thing I can do is break it down day by day:

Day 1: Met another younger guy from Vancouver named Justin and shot a video before we went in. He has gone 4 times to this retreat. He said he loves and hates it at the same time. Truer words could not be spoken to summerize the course. After we are instructed of the rules by my Teacher Goenka

Rules:
to abstain from killing any being,
to abstain from stealing;
to abstain from all sexual activity;
to abstain from telling lies;
to abstain from all intoxicants.
to abstain from eating after midday (fasting)
to abstain from sensual entertainment and bodily decoration;
to abstain from using high or luxurious beds

The frirst day was incredibly long! Remember, I usually wake up around 10:30 am (I love working from home!) A lound "GONG" was struck repeadidly outside my room at
4am. Ouch. Waking up in the dark is NOT my favoriate thing to do in the world. I stumble to the go ot the Meditation hall in my pajamas from 4-6am to sit painfully still, in silence. Then breakfast 6-7am. Fall back asleep from
7-8. 8-9 back to meditation hall. 9-11 free time: walk the trails in nature, I saw deer and a snake that totatally freaked me out, I am like Indiana Jones in that respect, I hate snakes. 11-12 lunch. 12-2 rest. 2-4 in the hall. 5 tea time. 7-9'Teaching Time' Dharma Talk. Bed. BIZZARE dreams, very bizzare all week acutally.

Then repeat day 1 for 10 days in a row. The ultimate Ground Hog Day series. The days just blended together with no concept of time or dates.
However on the 5th day I kind of freaked out. I was impressed that the past 5 days were complete, then I realized I was only half done and still had 5 more to go. A few people left early. One guy who had been smoking 2 packs a day stayed the whole time and gave up smoking completely!

It was unreal the thoughts, the memories, and the people that come up in your mind when you have an abundance of time to just sit and think. I have such a profound respect for the power of the mind and the memory. I watched an entire movie of my life in my mind, in extreme detail: every person who impacted my life, every place I visited or lived, like it all happened yesterday. Vivid is an understatment.

After we were allowed to speak agian, I exploded. I felt I was getting high on the emotion of talking, blabbing like a mad man. We were all just laughing and levitating. The people that were there were from all walks of life, different backgrounds and religions. Myself being a Christian, it was really cool to connect and learn from other people in other faiths and backgrounds that attended this open retreat as well.

The "After" Video. I remembered how to talk :) unfortunatly camera batery died after 49 seconds...

All in all it was VERY profound, powerful & productive 10 day journey within. I HIGHLY recommend that EVERYONE do at least ONE retreat in their life. So put it on your lifes to do list. Its personal development on a verrrrry personal level. I am gonna make a point to do it at least one per year to go into the wild...

What is a Mentor?

I am in Whistler BC at the moment.
I will tell you why shortly. First, I have to say that if you have NEVER been to the west coast of BC Canada...why NOT? It is absolutely incredible (like I said in my last article, its a whole new world compared to the rest of North America (especially Winterpeg:)

Outside the condo I rented for the week I am sitting cross-legged beside the warm fireplace with a gin & tonic in my non typing hand as I am surrounded by a hot tub on our balcony, knee deep powder covering the massive mountains overhead and off in the distance I hear Australian accents bouncing around a village that is about to explode on a this Saturday night.

So, back to why I am so stoked to be in Whistler: today was a very cool day for me: I met my 1st business mentor.

2 years ago I got a call from a guy who said he was making 50K/month from home.
His name: Jay Kubassek. Sound familiar? If not, he is the Founder of Carbon Copy PRO Marketing System. Since then Jay has gone on to make over 170K per month as a Top Producer & Trainer in the Network Marketing / Direct Sales Home Business Industry.
More than that, he is a pretty cool guy as well.
The first time we talked in Jan 2007, it was when he just left Liberty League International (the Personal Development Direct Sales Company where he made his first few million $'s) to go to Wealth Masters International and create his own system. That first conversation changed my life and opened a new door of possibility and opportunity. I connected well with him (but not as well with the Wealth Masters Business Opp). We were both young, single dads who hated working for wadges and loved snow boarding and the freedom that being an home based entrepreneur gives.

Fast forward 2 years later: I did not join Jay Kubassek in WMI (Wealth Masters International), I went with my passion of personal development and created my home as a marketer with LLI (Liberty League International). However, I always kept an eye on Jay Kubassek and followed his marketing methods and his leadership mentoring mentality as I considered him to be my first 'mentor' even though we never collaborated in a business venture together (even thought I invested in his Insideout DVD product and tuned into some of his training calls).

His success did have a HUGE impact on me and my primary business, expecially when other leaders in Liberty League commented on how much I reminded them of Jay and now today I was sitting across from the first person who introduced me to the Home Business Industry 2 years ago. As we were having a beer and finishing lunch talking business at the top of Whistler Summit's overlooking the world from 2000 feet above sea level, I felt that we were on the same level, "at the top". That has a HUGE experience for me because I had such a high level of respect for Jay Kubassek as a person and as an entrepreneur and now that I saw that he really is just a regular guy with a huge desire. In some respects, a mutual friend of ours J Rod said that we even kind of look the same...(however, its obvious that I am younger and MUCH better looking...hahha, just joking Jay:)

The one thing that I do see that sets Top Producers & Mentors in this industry apart from the others who fail to become just that, is that leaders have more drive, determination, ambition and keep their integrity to reach a goal and do what ever it takes to get to the top.

I also realized that when I go to my companies events with my team, I am also a mentor to a large group of people as well who look up to me. So that brings me to my question:

What is a Mentor?

In my opinion, a mentor is someone who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.

Characteristics of a good mentor: a trusted advisor, a teacher, a leader, a visionary, a coach & trainer who shows people a step by step a simple game plan to get the results that they want either in sports, business or through personal development life lessons.

Why does everyone not only need, but DESERVE a mentor?

Mentor ship is like having a personal 'friend on the inside' or somewhat of a professional who has 'been there and done that' who can dramatically lessen your learning curve and be there to guide & support your evolution of developing the essential skill sets needed to become successful in what ever endeavor you choose to master.

For me, I am a MARKETER & A COACH; so I surround myself with successful marketers & coaches. Makes sense right? We call this the Law of Association, that whoever you surround yourself with, you will ultimately become. So if you are not satisfied with your results or your network of people, go out to find a community, a network or group of people who ARE getting the results you want, learn how they got started and plug into your own Mastermind Community.

I am so greatful to ALL my mentors that have crossed my path in my life and since I became an entrepreneur! Everyone in Liberty League International for ‘showing me the way’ and my personal Summit Advisor Debbie Ruston, thanks for all you do :)

My FACEBOOK 25 Random Things About Me

Lets get started:
1) WOW, its unreal when I look back at my life and try to think of only 25 things that I have done....
I have really been blessed to live a very adventurous and random life so far at a young age...
I feel like I should be like 100 years old by now with all the things I have done so far...haha
I am just happy I survived so far ;)

#1 seems like its so important and profound like its is the first chapter of a book or something so I will reveal something VERY juicy...drum roll please....I am acually an alien sent here from another galaxy to see if there is any intelligent life on this planet....unfortunetly....no luck so far...joking.

2) Ok, lets get serious now: Obvioulsy I don't take life tooo seriously, cause if I did I would never make it out alive...right? I believe life is short, so live it to the fullest while you still can...I sure do :)

3) I rode a camel through the Egyptian desert to attend a 10 day Rainbow Gathering in the middle of no where...literally....on my way out I lost my guide and my camel took off with my backpack and all my posissions on it...
I was stranded, alone with no water, no food...nothing...for hours....then I was found by a British couple. God bless the British!

4) I bought a car in Australia (were I travelled & backpacked for 1 year when I was 19) I put my surfboard on top and drove all across that MASSIVE country...
From Sydney all the way to Perth on the west coat, cruising all by myself...it was soooo cool & by far the best year of my life...so far:)

5) My favorate beer is VB (Victoria Bitter) & Guiness. (I am also Irish, so happy St Patricks Day :)

6) I am tall...6 foot 6 to be exact...so now you don't have to ask me that like every other person does when they first meet me. Thanks.

7) I moved away from home 1 week after I turned 18 & been 'on the road' ever since. I had a basketball scholarship to play university ball out of province...since then I have lived in so many different places its hard to keep track.

8) I lived in a beach hut for a month in Mexico.
I surfed every day & traded pesos for tacos & cerveza. IT was AWSOME!

9) I travelled across Europe for almost 3 months...the hardest trip was:
I rode a train for 5 days straight from Portugal to The south of Italy...then I got on a boat for 2 days to Greece...then got on another train for a day to Athens...then on another boat...then I finally arrived at the nicest island I have ever been on...Santorini. And slept for 48 hours straight....its hard work being a world traveller :)

10) I was stranded at the Canadian Embassy without a passport in Thailand....
Then on another trip I got threatend, robbed and almost jailed in Morocco for being a
'white tourist with $'

11) I love sushi, pizza, and Thia food. That is my diet right there.

12) I worked for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. It was an unbelievable experience and met SOOO many awsome people I am still friends with today...I LOVE OZ & can't wait for the Whistler Olympics!

13) After I won a 1000 bucks New Dears Day on my first trip to Vegas when I was 21, I extended my trip and decided to hichhike to go surfing in LA. I put the 1K in my sock & I was picked up by 3 shady spanish drug dealers that took me to multiple crack houses all around California making "drop offs' before they dropped me off.
It was probably one of the scariest things I have experience... but once agian, I survived...thank God.

14) You can rent me at Blockbuster...I have been featured in a few movies back in my 'acting days'

15) I think that the most attractive feature on others is their eyes and smile. I have been told that about myself aswell.

16) I have loved & I have lost...but I have always learned ALOT from all my relationships.
I am greateful for that.

17) I drove from coast to coast accross Canada! From Victoria to Halifax in 1 summer with 3 friends...what a wacky road trip:...so many speeding tickets, one of us got arrested then we fliped a coin with the cop to get him off, hilarious! We slept on strangers couches, I surfed in the pacific & atlantic ocean the same trip...then I ended up living in Montreal for a year with my buddy Jon after that coast to coast adventure because we both fell in love with the 'French style'...haha!
I miss the Montreal crew!

18) I sold everthing of value that I owned, including leaving school, taking out my student loan and renting out my place to livie in Mexico for a month to be able to afford to get started in my own Home Based Business to attend a conference in Mexico...best move I ever made...

19) I have the best boy in the world, Ethan Ashton Carlin...who is the reason I do the business that I do...

20) The two scariest things I have ever done is bundgy jumping & telling the judge that I want full custody of my son...because I once you take that first step...you have no idea how the cord / or court, will react and support the weight of your case.

21) I am a Christian / Catholic. I consider myself to be very spiritually aware of my thoughts and focus on the good in life...not the bad (Law of Attraction)..I visited Isreal and went to Jeruselum..WOW... now that is a Holy Land! Incredible history and energy there, EVERYONE deserves to experience that. I climbed Mount Sinia too :)

22) My Faviroate # is 22...and anytime I look the clock its always 22 after. bizzares.
My Favoriate song is "Bittersweet Symphony" The Verve

23) I serioulsy have the nicest mother in the world! I think Heaven is missing an Angel becuase this woman is such a siant I am so greatful to have such wonderful parents like I do. My dad is one of the funniest people I have ever met aswell. Thanks guys...and sorry for all the grey hair my 'crazy jetsetter lifestyle' has caused you...you have to agree, since Ethan was born I have chilled out alot...right?

24) Honestly, Lifestyle is VERY important to me. I sleep in everyday, I have never been able to (or wanted to) have a regular 9-5 job. I don't know how people have time for working jobs and all these insane hours...
As you can see, for the past 10 years maintaining my lifestyle is a full time job....
seriously, its a hard job but someones gotta do it :)
I always wonder how do people work 40 hours a week, and have time to do all the day to day stuff...like cook, clean, grocery shop, pay bills, work out, socialize, read, family time, LIVE?

How do you do it?

I work 20 hours per week from home and still don't have enought time for everthing I want / need to do...I think I need a 'life assistant'...any takers?

25) I have a goal to 'empower and inspire' (says Landmark Education) thousands of people to live a life of passion & action. I am so sick of seeing people with HUGE potential waste it away for some dead end JOB (Just Over Broke) and not follow thier dreams and wants.

Be DO Have. Simple as that people.

I feel that with all the things I have done so far, all the places I have been and all the people I have met in the past few years, the fact I am in my mid 20's makes me wonder...what the hell am I gonna do with the rest of my life?
I kind of feel like I have done it all....
Any suggestions?

Right now I have a project I am working on: completing a manuscript I wrote in college.

I feel that I need to write a full novel about these "25 random things"...as well as the hundreds of others that didn't make the cut that are not "Facebook Friendly PG 13"...hahah...

But seriously, if anyone has any connections or insights about how to submitt / publish or produce a novel for a frist time author...I am all ears to learn how this process works...

Thanks for listenting to my "25 random things"...

I hope they put a smile on your face and a thought in your head.

Your "Facebook Friend",

Quinton Carlin :)

PS My next goal is to live in a beachfront house in Hawaii, with a hot tub & hammock on my front deck overlooking the waves that crash meters from my front door.

Life is good....go out an play.

City - 2 - City & State - 2 - State

As you probably already know : I travel ALOT!

I just got off a plane from Vancouver (FYI Van City is ALWAYS rated in Macleans Magazine as one of the top 5 cities in the WORLD) and I am blessed to say I live in this paradise of a city...but my destination on this trip took me to one of North Americas 'worst' cities...drum roll please....Winnipeg, or more correctly called "Winterpeg".

Currently every hair on my body is standing on stilts do to the -30 degrees celcius tempreture and I am sitting inside, drinking tea...by a fire place....and wearing 3 layers...and I am still freezing!

This article is not about climate, its about culture & mindset of the people who CHOOSE to live in each of these VERY different and diverse cities.

Its a bitter sweet symphony every time I come back to this 'city' or small town of small people...

I call it and them 'small' because no one really wants to leave or live in Winnipeg...the just end up here. Like really, who would conciously CHOOSE to live in a climate that is -30 for about 8.5 months of the year then in the 3.5 months of 'summer' they are surrounded by misquitoes and unbearable humididty?

So you see, people just end up here & exist.

The only reason I am hear is because for some reason my sons mother has chosen to 'exist' here.

I have observed that people do not actually live and thrive in Winnipeg...they get by and survive..always waiting for summer..then complaining about the heat and mosquitoes and then complaining about the cold...heres a tip:

F%#KING MOVE!

It is absolutely SHOCKING the difference in consciousness between people in Van and the Peg.

Poverty Consciousness is EVERYWERE in Winnipeg, it has the highest murder rate in Canada, the coldest temperature in North America and a economy were every second building is our of business...

On the conterary, in Vancouver Prosperity & Abundance everywhere. The city of glass as I call it, beautiful new condos strech accross the skyline over the ocean and under the mountians...a perfect scene. It NEVER goes below 0 degrees and is the only city in Canada that has a beautiful beach downtown.
Like I said: A West Coast Paradise.

A 2.5 h flight takes you from the worst city in Canada to not only the best in Canada
but what is said to be the top city in the world...(maybe behind Sydney or Hawaii)

I have been here for only a few hours, and I am already looking forward to getting back to the forward thinking, fun, beautiful, modern, warm, mountinous, oceanous (now I am making up words I am so excited to get home) hip citiy that is litteraly BURSTING with opportunities!

Instead, all I see here right now in Winterpeg is people just trying to survive the witner, barried in jackets, gloves and hats as the wind rips across the plain praries.

Walking around downtown Winnipeg is somewhat simular as walking around a morge or a grave yard...the walking dead...infested and populated with the rejects of society. A sad sight to see. I was talking to a good friend of mine and he summed it up like this, if you look at the map of north america, and thought of it as a giant ass...whats in the middle of it?

Winnipeg.

My "Attitude of Gratitude"

It's 11 35pm.
At the moment I am lying in bed with a glass of red wine.
I can not stop thinking about of how incredibly fast the last 5 years have flown by!
Truly amazing...

Exactly 5 years ago tonight (March 4th 2004), I was lying in bed with my girlfriend at the time. Little did we know that she was just hours away from giving birth to our first child.

I remember when she went into labour in the middle of the night...it was like a scene from a movie: packing the bag, rushing out of the house and into the car.
I was driving as fast and careful as I could to the hospital. It was dark, snowing & freezing (Winnipeg in the winter is not the most exotic location in the world).

Then, a few hours later (9 to be exact) a little angel was born and brought into our world.

Ethan Ashton Carlin

It was such a surreal, unforgetable experience!

I remember holding him for the first time.
Now, THAT is love at first sight! :)

So here I am now 5 years later.

I have changed the diapers, givin the baby baths, and seen him go from horizontal crawling to vertical walking.

What a marvoluous miricle!

Now he tells me all about his favoriate super heros (Spiderman & Batman) and which dinasours are the best fighters and why Transformers are the coolest...incredible!

FYI: My dad just turned 67, I am 28, and my son is 5 tomorrow.

The 3 generations of Carlin men.

I am so greatful to be in 'the middle' of 2 incredible individuals:
Paul & Ethan Carlin.

I respect, admire and love you both more than words can describe.

So the tip is for all the fathers and all the sons:
Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)

Happy Birthday Son!

I am so blessed & greatful that you chose me to be your daddy & thanks dad for showing me how to be a great father.
xoxo

"Surfveza" or "Snowveza"?

2 years ago I coined the phrase "Surfveza & Snowveza":
(Surf + Cerveza = Surfveza, Snow + Cerveza = Snowveza) when I started my first business doing surf trips to Tofino & Mexico and snowboarding trips to Whistler. It was awsome! If you were on one of those trips, you know what I mean...

BUT

I am at a crossroads right now and I have a question:
What would YOU rather do: Surfveza...or...Snowveza?

Barrels in Bali?

Or

Fresh Powder?

If you could go anywere were would you go & what would you do?

Leave me a comment below...

I'd be surfing in Hawaii..this is INSANE:

See ya on the next trip my friends...

"What Do I Do?"

A buddy of mine & Master Marketer Daegan Smith defined this our fine industry / business model brilliantly so I thought this could help educate those of you who would like to learn more about what we do and how YOU can do the same if you choose to:

If "Internet Network Marketing" was a word in
Webster's Dictionary I'd in vision it would
read as follows:

(Noun) 1. A path to multiple streams of income &
wealth that enables a regular individual to grow a
worldwide organization of like-minded
individuals without having to fear or ever
take on the concern of rejection because systems do all the
explaining / selling for the entrepreneur. All you need to do is
the marketing (which is taught to you) and have simple
conversations (scripts that are provided to you) as a customer
service leader!

2. (Verb)
The action of creating leveraged residual
income 24 hours a day through leveraging the
power of people, products, and technology in
such a way that there no financial or
physical limitations while becoming a leader, advisormentor & coach
showing people a Better Way.

So ask yourself:

Is it smart to create multiple income streams using technology like this?
(I think... no... I KNOW its BRILLANT b/c I have been making a full time living online for the pst 2 years)

OR

Is it smart that most people work for mimimum wage, never have time for there family or are never able to travel and end up trading their life to an employer?

This is a conversation I have all the time when people ask me "What do you do?"

"I work with a Personal Devlopment Company Liberty League International" Me

"What is Liberty League International?" You

"A community of people who teach people like you how to make a full time (6 Figure) income from home...or from anywere in the world where you can plug in a lap top" Me

"REALLY?" You

"Yup" Me

"How can I start to do that too?" You

"Go to www.LibertyLeague.com/Surfveza and get plugged into our training system" ME

"Ok, Thanks!" You.

This is a common question & answer conversation I have with alot of people who want to know what I do and how they can do the same...

Hope this helps fill in the details...
